ZAP is one of the world’s oldest electric vehicle providers, having delivered over 117,000 of a broad range of vehicles to more than 75 countries since 1994. The company supplies some of the only city-speed cars and trucks in production today and is leveraging its accrued technology know-how in developing a cost effective high-speed electric car called the ZAP Alias.
Transportation pioneer ZAP announced today the inclusion of its vehicles on the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 78, number GS-03F-0051W, expanding its market opportunities in the government fleet market. The GSA schedule procurement system provides streamlined access to industry partners. GSA qualification will expedite the acquisition process for government agencies looking to purchase ZAP vehicles.
As the government’s purchasing agent, the GSA connects federal purchasers with the most cost-effective and high-quality commercial products and services. Founded in 1949, the GSA influences the management of $24 billion in federal assets, including 8,600 government-owned or leased buildings and 213,000 vehicles.
The endorsement by the GSA will facilitate sales of the company’s vehicles to government agencies. ZAP’s entire line of electric trucks and vans, along with its ATV and scooter, are now available through GSA and can be found on the “GSA Advantage!” online ordering website. Some of the vehicles available for sale include the Zaptruck XL, Zapvan, ZAP Dude ATV and Zappy3 PRO personal transporter. Over the past year, the company has already been supplying its Zaptruck XL to multiple federal and state agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration and the US military.
