XO Holdings (XOHO.OB) Subsidiary, XO Communications, Continues Expanding Footprint in Seattle Area

XO Communications announced today that they have expanded their network presence for the Seattle, WA market. Part of the XO Communications’ business strategy is to expand development in existing XO markets to serve more customers where a presence is already being felt. XO Communications, a leading nationwide provider of advanced broadband communications services and solutions for businesses, enterprises, government, carriers and service providers, presently has itself established in more than 75 metropolitan markets across the United States.

This new expansion will allow XO to serve thousands of additional customers with its award-winning IP-based communications and manage network solutions while providing superior ongoing customer service. The expansion, which adds to the 19,000 mile nationwide XO network, increases XO Communications’ reach across the northern suburbs of Seattle in Everett, Kirkland and Bothell and adds to the company’s already extensive Seattle network presence where its metro fiber network spans 200 route miles.

Mitzi Sachs, General Manager of Seattle Market for XO Communications, commented, “At a time when many service providers are closing markets or scaling back operations, XO Communications is further expanding its network reach to serve more businesses.” She continued, “We have seen increased demand for our services from multi-locations businesses in areas adjacent to our markets and have opted for a smart growth strategy through network expansion.”

XO Communications announced on June 24th the introduction of expanded capabilities of the XO Ethernet Services portfolio with the nationwide launch of XO Ethernet VPLS (Virtual Private LAN Service). XO Ethernet VPLS is an ideal solution for multi-location organizations that are seeking to simplify the management of their wide area networks, facilitate control of all or parts of their networks, and increase application and network performance. The XO Ethernet VPLS systems offers solutions to the increasing complexity and usage level requirements of geographically disperse companies while maintaining the highest level of security.

The month of June saw many press releases on the topic of XO Communications signing contracts as they continue to gain greater recognition in the industry. Also announced was that XO had been named a recipient of the 2010 CIO 100 by IDG’s CIO magazine. The 23rd annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).
