World Surveillance Group designs, develops, markets, and sells lighter-than-air UAVs capable of carrying payloads that provide persistent security and/or wireless communications solutions at low, mid, and high altitudes. The company’s unmanned airships, when integrated with high-tech electronic systems, are perfect for government entities which require real-time intelligence, surveillance, and communications.
The company announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Global Telesat Corporation (GTC), has been awarded a contract to provide satellite-based tracking services for the premier emergency response organization in the United States. The contract is a result of the initiative by GTC to market its mobile satellite solution to commercial and government clients around the globe.
As per the contract, Global Telesat will take care of the GPS tracking of mass care equipment trailers. The company will provide specialized satellite tracking devices, satellite airtime, and online mapping capabilities as part of a disaster preparedness and emergency relief program to locate and monitor the movements of the emergency organization’s mobile assets across the country. GTC’s proprietary mapping portal will enable the tracking devices to be visually located and monitored by the customer in near real-time using Google Maps with a computer or mobile device.
The tracking devices send one-way predetermined messages with their respective GPS locations and other information required by the customer to track the journey of each particular mobile asset. The technology utilizes a combination of the GPS and Globalstar satellite networks.
