UTEK Corporation and World Energy Solutions announced together today that World Energy Solutions has acquired UTEK Corporation’s subsidiary, Hydrogen Safe Technologies, Inc, in a stock transaction.
Hydrogen Safe Technologies contains an exclusive license to a hydrogen sensor technology developed by researchers at the University of South Florida. The unique sensor, originally funded by NASA, uses nanowires and nanoparticles as well as the sensing element. It is believed that coating devices with nanostructure materials could allow hydrogen detection in near real time.
