Well Power Inc. (WPWR) Offers Valuable New Technology to U.S. Oil Industry

Well Power, a Houston based energy technologies company, has secured the licensing rights to Texas, along with the first right of refusal for the other U.S. states, to a new technology for the processing of waste natural gas, a byproduct of oil production that usually ends up being wastefully vented, flared, or stranded.

Waste natural gas is a huge problem, caused largely by the inability of producers to cost effectively transport or otherwise deal with gas produced as part of the oil production process. Global gas flaring, the burning off of this excess gas, amounts to roughly 150 billion cubic meters each year, contributing 400 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gas emissions. Annual global flaring is equivalent to about 30 percent of the total yearly gas requirements of the entire European Union, or the annual residential gas consumption in the United States. Even more troubling, in some cases flaring negatively affects the livelihood and quality of life for local populations, often raising political stakes for governments and petroleum production companies.

The Well Power technology, in the form of their Micro Refinery Unit (MRU), offers a way of turning this waste natural gas into Green Fuel™ and clean power, with a solution that is mobile, high-yield, and economical deployable. The MRU is a combination of proven commercial technologies, with a proprietary micro-reactor system for hydrocarbon processing and catalytic reactions. It is flexible, scalable, modular, efficient, and easily custom configured.

The unique system has the ability to process raw natural gas flows of between 75 Mcf to 250 Mcf, first conditioning and then converting methane and condensates to Syngas (CO and hydrogen). This is followed by a Fischer-Tropsch reaction to produce Green Fuel™, and power which is generated from the heat of exothermic reactions and combustion.
