Vu1 Corp. is a developer and manufacturer of a unique energy-efficient and environmentally friendly light bulb. The company announced today that it has received final approval for UL listing for its R30 Electron Stimulated Luminescence energy-efficient reflector light bulbs.
This light bulb is a direct replacement for the 65 watt incandescent flood bulb. It is virtually indistinguishable from the traditional incandescent lamp it replaces and unlike some bulbs, the R30 ESL bulb is mercury-free. Vu1’s R30 ESL lighting technology uses accelerated electrons to stimulate phosphor to create light, making the surface of the bulb “glow”. This provides natural light quality, energy efficiency and a long bulb life of 10,000 hours.
The primary initial market for Vu1’s R30 light bulb is the commercial and residential general illumination market where incandescent, halogen, compact fluorescent (CFL) and light emitting diode (LED) lighting is used. According to recent industry reports, the US market comprises 800 million recessed can lights with over 140 million bulbs sold per year.
Vu1 is looking to accelerate the introduction and adoption of the company’s products into the retail channel. It has engaged Integrated Sales Solutions LLC, a specialist sales and marketing consulting business co-founded by Bill Hamlin, a former senior executive at The Home Depot and company board member.
