Voyager Oil & Gas, Inc. issued an operational update on the company’s oil and gas exploration and development activities in the Western United States. The company is active in several different areas including the Williston and Denver Julesburg basins.
Voyager Oil & Gas, Inc. has 24,000 net acres under lease in the Williston Basin, spread between North Dakota and Montana. The company has twelve gross wells in various stages of the drilling and completion process, and plans to spud three more wells before the end of 2010.
Voyager Oil & Gas, Inc. plans to spud thirty-five gross, or five net wells in the Williston Basin in 2011. The company is targeting the Bakken formation.
In the Denver Julesburg basin, Voyager Oil & Gas, Inc. is targeting the Niobrara Shale, a formation that contains a high proportion of oil and natural gas liquids. The company recently participated in three gross wells in the play in association with Slawson Exploration.
Voyager Oil & Gas, Inc. said that all three wells targeted the Niobrara B zone of the play. The wells are currently undergoing completion operations and cost approximately $3 million each to drill and complete.
