Uranium Hunter Corporation (URHN.OB) has Joined the International Search for Uranium

Uranium Hunter Corporation is a natural resource company devoted to the exploration and development of deposits of uranium in East Africa. The company has acquired properties in Tanzania that further enhance their position to become an established leader within the renewable energy industry.

Around the world, nuclear energy is becoming a core issue for many countries. Currently, 30 countries representing two-thirds of the world’s population use some 442 nuclear reactors to produce 16% of global electricity. Expansion of nuclear energy is underway in some countries already; China and India have plans to quadruple their nuclear capacity by 2020.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has significantly increased its projection of world nuclear generating capacity, and now anticipates at least 60 new plants to be built in the next 15 years. East Africa and Asia are two regions that are expected to produce the greatest growth, as there are over 100 nuclear power reactors in operation, twenty under construction, and plans to build another forty in the future.

Nuclear energy possesses a unique environmental advantage over fossil fuels in that virtually all nuclear waste can be contained and managed. Nuclear power plants produce no controlled air pollutants, such as sulfur and particulates, or greenhouse gases, which ultimately means that nuclear power plants do not produce any pollution. Nuclear energy is the largest source of clean air, carbon-free energy in North America.

In order to operate a 1 million-kilowatt power plant for one year, it takes 2.2 million tons of coal, 1.4 million tons of oil, 1.1 million tons of natural gas, or only 30 tons of enriched uranium.
By comparing how much fuel is required to operate a 1 million-kilowatt power plant for one year, it is no wonder why most nations around the world are looking into building and producing uranium for energy use. Production from world uranium mines now supplies only 55% of the requirements of power utilities. Canada produces the largest share of uranium from mines (28% of the world’s supply), followed by Australia (22%).
