Uranium Hunter Corporation is a natural resources company devoted to the exploration and development of natural resources such as uranium and gold. The company, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, was founded with the focus of developing a portfolio of mineral properties in East Africa, more specifically the Njombe and Songea Districts in the Republic of Tanzania and Uganda. The long-term goal of Uranium Hunter is to meet the 70 million pound shortage of uranium the world needs to meet the demands of nuclear power plants, which are currently only receiving 55% of their needs.
The truth is that nuclear power is the largest source of clean-air, carbon-free energy in North America today. All waste products created by nuclear facilities are controlled and properly disposed of, making them an excellent sources of power with a very cost efficient input, uranium. In the future, especially if John McCain takes office, a massive plan to increase the number of nuclear reactors in North America could go into effect, driving up the demand for uranium, which already exceeds supply.
In addition to being largely free of pollution, and completely free of carbon byproducts, nuclear power has a significantly lower fuel consumption rate compared to alternative forms of energy. A 1-million kilowatt plant running on enriched uranium only requires 30 tons to produce energy for a year. Compare that to a natural gas plant which needs over 1.1 million tons.
Currently there are only a handful of active uranium mines. The majority of the world’s production comes from Canada, followed closely by Australia. The fact is that 66% of the world’s supply of uranium is generated by just 10 mines. With very limited competition, the uranium mining industry is a solid source of revenue in the future. Companies heavily invested in uranium now will be well leveraged as the world turns away from fossil fuels and towards nuclear energy.
