Universal Detection Technology develops early-warning monitoring technologies for protection against bioterrorism and other infectious health threats. The company today announced that its partnership with Powdersafe Pty Ltd. has resulted in a new breakthrough system comprised of both companies’ products.
The system was designed to increase user safety and to protect vital forensic evidence, and is a combination of Universal Detection’s test kits and the Powdersafe Containment system, creating a maximum protective field environment to conduct real time testing for biological and toxic substances.
The system enables facilities (such as mailrooms) to test suspicious powders without exposure to harmful substances. If a substance tests positive, it can be transported with the Powdersafe Containment system to the nearest laboratory, complete with Universal Detection’s test kit.
“The partnership with Powdersafe allows us to provide our clients with a containment system where suspicious powders can be examined without exposing the user to any harmful bio-agents or toxins,” Jacques Tizabi, CEO of Universal Detection stated in the press release. “This continues our strategy of partnering with innovative companies in the CBRN detection and protection industries.”
Universal Detection’s biological weapon detection equipment is used by first responders and private industry throughout the country, and is certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. They have also been evaluated by the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as the United Kingdom military.
The Powdersafe Containment system is endorsed by the Australian Government and is used by organizations worldwide.
