Universal Detection Technology (UDTT.OB) Unveils New Radiation Detection Device

Universal Detection Technology (UDTT) made the announcement that, in its efforts to supply more comprehensive CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) solutions, it has initiated the sale and marketing of credit card sized radiation dosimeters. This new product is UDTT’s RADView PD Dosimeter badge, a lightweight radiation dosimeter which shows coloration when exposed to radiation. The more severe the dose, the darker the colored area gets, making detection easy. Each unit has an expected life of around one year before it needs to be replaced.

Devices such as this are in high demand among public service agencies such as police and fire departments, who want and need the ability to monitor such adverse conditions without having to concern themselves over maintaining devices. The new cards created by UDTT do not require batteries or any other power source, are resistant to sunlight and other environmental exposures, and are made of sturdy material which is expected to hold up under almost any foreseeable conditions or situations.

UDTT has hopes that, once properly marketed, these badges will be used by police, firefighters, emergency medical staff, assessment personnel, remediation crews, or any personnel with potential duties at an emergency site. UDTT is adding these radiation detectors to their line of other bioterrorism detection devices, which include monitoring for anthrax and other bacteria. The company also provides training material and references, training DVDs and videos, as well as event security, research, and consulting.
