Universal Detection Technology (UDTT.OB) Presents the BSM-2000 to the Committee on Homeland Security

Universal Detection Technology (UDTT.OB), a developer of early-warning bio-terrorist monitoring technologies, presented its BSM-2000 system at a technology fair sponsored by the Committee of Homeland Security held at the Rayburn House Building. UDTT was one of only 15 companies invited to present its technology to members of the US Congress and Homeland Security. The fair was held to educate members of the US House of Representatives and staff on the latest technologies available to detect biohazard threats in the air, water, and food.

“We are honored to have had the opportunity to present our detection methodology to the Congressional Committee on Homeland Security as well as to our colleagues in the Homeland Security Sector and are very delighted by the feedback we received at the technology fair,” said Mr. Jacques Tizabi, UDTT’s CEO.

The BSM-2000 captures an aerosol sample and is able to run an extensive chemical test to calculate the bacterial spores in the sample. The BSM-2000 was presented as a front-end monitor to the Biohazard Detection System (BDS) or any other secondary monitoring system. Once a baseline of bacterial spore concentrations is determined, the BSM-2000 can provide results in about 15 minutes and can be set to run at standard intervals for continuous testing. If the BSM-2000 detects a spore count higher than baseline, it will trigger the larger BDS unit to validate the results. The BSM-2000 can also emit an alarm for a technician to run validation tests.
