Universal Detection Technology (UDTT.OB) Announces Its Anthrax Detection System is Approved for Listing on Homeland Security’s Responder Knowledge Base Web Site

Universal Detection Technology (UDTT) announced that its BSM-2000 Anthrax Detection System was listed on the Responder Knowledge Base (RKB) Web site, the primary source of information for First Responders. The site is sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Universal Detection, based out of Los Angeles, California, is a developer and supplier of counter-terrorism services and technologies, including bioterrorism detection devices, to private and government organizations.

The RKB Web site was created to provide emergency responders, purchasers, and planners with a trusted, integrated, on-line source of information on products standards, certification, grants, and other equipment-related information. Funded through the FEMA National Preparedness Directorate under DHS, the RKB is part of Universal Detection’s strategy to provide biodetection solutions directly to the first responder community charged with responding to a biological incident.

According to Jacques Tizabi, the company’s chief executive officer, RKB will allow first responders throughout the country to access and review information on the BSM-2000 regarding detection of bacterial spores such as anthrax. The company plans to continue to list all of their products on the Web site giving first responders access to the whole spectrum of Chemical, Biological and Radiation (CBRN) detection products.
