UFood Restaurant Group is currently a fast casual restaurant headquartered in Boston, MA and is seeking to launch a growth plan to franchise nationwide. UFood Grill offers a healthy lifestyle alternative to consumers in the fast-casual restaurant space and is positioned to become a leading player in the “better-for-you” quick serve restaurant category.
The company is led by franchise innovator George Naddaff, who is also the founder of Boston Market and has led the franchising of several other companies. Mr. Naddaff is considered by many to be the guru of franchising in America. Among the members of the board includes recently appointed director, Mark Giresi who spent 16 years at Burger King Corporation (NYSE: BKC) where he held several executive positions including Senior Vice President of U.S. Franchise Operations and Development, and Worldwide General Counsel.
Adding to the company’s image is the recent news that it has contracted with former Heavy Weight Champion George Forman as its spokes person. Mr. Foreman’s name is already associated with healthy eating which complements UFood’s concept of “feel great…eat smart.”
In a time where many are concerned about their food intake, Ufoods is hoping to stand out from among the other quick service restaurants by capitalizing on consumer demand for quick service restaurants that offer great-tasting food with healthy attributes – such as reduced saturated fat, trans fat, and processed carbohydrates.
According to Mr. Naddaff, Ufoods has put together a great team to implement the company’s business plan.
