Trimble (TRMB), best known for its GPS technology, is a provider of advanced positioning solutions. The company integrates a range of positioning technologies including GPS, laser, optical and inertial technologies with application software and wireless communications. Based in Sunnyvale, California, the company, which possesses over 700 patents, has been in operation since 1978 with offices across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.
Trimble announced the addition of the TrimTrac® Pro Locator as a hardware enabler for Trimble® Construction Manager. The Trimble Construction Manager is designed to reduce construction project costs through enhancing equipment utilization, identifying idle time and waster fuel costs, improving safety, enabling theft recovery and improving understanding of a construction company’s overall operations. The TrimTrac Pro device, along with the asset management features of Construction Manager software, allows contractors and construction rental companies to monitor their smaller portable assets such as skid loaders, backhoes, compressors and generators.
This week, the company also introduced its new Trimble® VRS Now™ H-Star™ service. A subscription to the Trimble VRS Now H-Star service gives users working in utilities, local government, natural resources and land management the ability to obtain real-time, accurate, consistent decimeter-level positioning directly at the job site. By accessing the Trimble VRS technology, subscribers can correct data in the field without setting up base stations or post-processing data.
