Trans Energy, Inc. reported an operational update on its oil and gas activities in the United States where the company is developing the Marcellus Shale formation.
Trans Energy completed a hydraulic fracturing operation on the Stout #2H well in January 2011 on a lease in Marshall County, West Virginia. The well produced an average of 5.26 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalents per day during the first thirty days of production.
Trans Energy said that the well was producing 4.68 million cubic feet of natural gas equivalents per day on the thirtieth day of production. The company used a 0.39 inch choke size during production.
Trans Energy has also completed a hydraulic fracturing operation on the Keaton #1H well and expects this well to start producing in April 2011. The company has two other wells in various stages of drilling. The Groves #1H well is currently undergoing completion operations, and the Lucey #1H is scheduled for hydraulic fracturing in May 2011.
All four of the wells drilled by Trans Energy targeted the Marcellus Shale formation and were drilled with a horizontal lateral.
