Every public company loves to put out good news and see the reflection in its stock price. The following three companies released positive news of some kind today or late yesterday and then watched as their stock prices closed very strong.
Celsius Holdings (OTCBB: CSUH) shares were up 43 cents, or 34 percent, to $1.71, on volume of 6.9 million at the market’s close today. Shares climbed steadily throughout the day after news that Celsius calorie burning drink that is revolutionizing the beverage market proved to actually burn calories in a clinical study. In the recent study, conducted at the University of Oklahoma, scientists reported that both male and female study participants consuming just one bottle of Celsius burned an average of 100 more calories than a placebo over a three-hour period.
Pro-Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMEX: PRW) tried to stayed relatively steady last week among the worries in the bond market with gains on Friday and continued this on Monday too start the week off right. Pro-Pharmaceuticals closed Monday with a stock increase of 6 cents, or 7 percent, to 91 cents. The company, this morning, began filing under Section 505 (b) (2) with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for a new formulation of Irinotecan to be co-administered with DAVANAT, as a functional excipient, to treat cancer. Irinotecan’s main use is in colorectal cancer, particularly in combination with other chemotherapy agents.
Vaso Active Pharmaceuticals Inc. (OTCBB: VAPH) shares rose 5 cents, or 50 percent, closing at 15 cents on volume of 150,692 this afternoon. Vaso Active experienced a lot of market activity early in this morning but flattened out as the day wore on. Although the stock was able to hold steady throughout the afternoon, the recent activity was probably caused by Friday’s news that the brands uniquely formulated topical, over-the-counter lotions would be available through Amazon.com. The three brands include temporary relief from minor arthritis, muscle and joint pain, as well as relief from athlete’s foot.
