Telkonet, a U.S.-based energy management technology provider worldwide, today announced that company partner Pacific Energy Services & Facilities, Inc. has completed the sale and installation of an EcoSmart energy management solution at the 426-room Hyatt Place – Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The installation marks the first usage of Telkonet’s EcoRemote energy management platform, an infrared transmitter designed to operate any remote-controlled HVAC unit with a wall thermostat. The EcoRemote also incorporates and enables Telkonet’s patented Recovery Time™ technology that maximizes energy savings in an unoccupied room.
Pacific Energy installed the EcoRemote system inside mini-split HVAC systems at the Hyatt Place in April, and has since saved the hotel more than 455,000kWh.
Telkonet and Pacific Energy also installed EcoWave intelligent thermostat packages, EcoView occupancy sensors, and EcoContact door contacts. The door contacts are designed to stop in-room HVAC units from running when a patio door is open to prevent the units from being overworked and generate cost savings.
“Telkonet continues to innovate with EcoSmart technology, constantly offering new ways to integrate energy management solutions and provide substantial energy savings,” said Troy Hartmann, president of Pacific Energy. “The Hyatt – Waikiki is the fourth Chartres Lodging Group property on which Pacific Energy has collaborated with Telkonet, and I look forward to continuing that partnership.”
