TeleCommunication Systems Inc. (TCS), a leading global provider of highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, and ATX Group, a leading provider of customized connected vehicle services for the global automotive market, have entered into a partnership to provide turnkey network solutions to Hyundai Motor America’s new Blue Link® telematics program utilizing TCS’s turn-by-turn navigation technology.
The companies will collaborate to deliver an advanced navigation solution for Hyundai based on TCS’ navigation platform and integrations services, integrated with ATX’s technology. The resulting navigation allows off-route vehicles to be automatically re-routed, even if the vehicle is out of network coverage.
“This solution also is unique in that it combines TCS’ dynamic content with ATX’s digitally optimized, voice recognition technology, enabling drivers to be less reliant on visual navigation screens and extending dynamic navigation to drivers who do not have access to an embedded or aftermarket navigation system,” Tom Metzger, senior vice president and general manager of Connected Vehicle Solutions for ATX stated in the press release.
Steve Petilli, vice president of TCS’ navigation and telematics group, said the companies’ joint efforts and program represent the latest in navigation technology.
“The collaboration with ATX and Hyundai for the Blue Link® program demonstrates the latest advances in connected navigation – an offering that combines the power of on-board navigation with dynamic accessibility of real-time content, including traffic and gas prices. TCS is pleased to partner with ATX and Hyundai to deliver this market-leading solution,” Petilli stated.
