ECOtality, Inc. (ETLY.OB) – Fuel from a Cell?

It's not unusual to find Fuel cells mentioned in the nightly news. It's not unusual to hear people say the words, fuel cell. You very well could hear a car commercial comment about them. Yet inevitably, if someone were to ask "where can I buy one?" the response will be a look of bewilderment. Responses usually range from "you can't buy them only scientists have them" to the simple; "Hmmm, I really don't know". Fuel cells aren't science fiction. ECOtality, Inc. (ETLY.OB) – Splitting Water

Water is one of our most abundant resources. Some 70% of the earth is covered with it, and for well over 100 years it's been known that water is made up of two very important elements. Hydrogen and Oxygen. Ever since the discovery of the chemicals that make up water, scientists have been trying to "split it" back into its component parts so that it could be used as a fuel. Hydrogen is a very combustible gas, and oxygen is an oxidizer that allows combustion of a fuel to take place. Take two parts hydrogen and two parts oxygen and…

ECOtality, Inc. (ETLY.OB) Sunlight and Batteries, a Marriage Made in North America

When Ecotality decided to acquire Innergy Power Corporation, the question on any investor’s mind would be, “why, what does it bring to the table?" Producing power from sunlight is one of the holy grails of clean power, and then having rechargeable batteries that can efficiently store that power, creates a "loop" that investors can take interest in. Innergy Power is the only North American manufacturer of both renewable energy solar modules and rechargeable batteries.…

ECOtality, Inc. (ETLY.OB) – Getting Charged Up

When the leaders of Ecotality selected that name, they did it for a purpose. Eco of course for the "green side" of the equation and "tality" for the link to "totality", or "all encompassing". As they have been developing technologies and solutions for an energy hungry planet that also needs to respect the environment, they have also been keen to add synergistic technologies that bring them closer to the goal of "in total" solutions. On Dec. 11th, 2007 Ecotality (trading under the symbol ETLY) announced it had completed the acquisition of Minit Charger, a subsidiary of Edison International, a NYSE-listed…
