The ongoing credit crunch is making its presence felt on Wall Street this Friday. This afternoon’s trading is showing heavy losses across the board, with all of the major indexes reflecting decreases of five percent or greater. If these numbers hold, it will mark the end of the worst week of decline in the history of the stock market. Despite much talk of a panic, and often gruesome numbers, the outlook is not totally bleak; a large amount of the perceived panic stems from irrational fear, and a herd mentality. Investors simply need to calm themselves.
