EnviroMission Limited (OTC: EVOMY, ASX:EVM)

EnviroMission Limited (OTC: EVOMY, ASX:EVM) is a renewable energy developer and innovator of commercially viable large-scale power generation driven by solar radiation for zero greenhouse gas emissions. The company is developing highly innovative Solar Tower electricity generation projects for the Australian & American renewable energy markets.

EnviroMission owns the exclusive Australian licence to Solar Tower technology and is moving to commercialize the first of many Solar Tower power stations in Australia by 2009. A single power station development will have the capacity to supply renewable energy to more than 400,000 households.

US Feasibility Studies

Feasibility studies now underway in the US are anticipated to show ideal conditions and economics for Solar Tower development in line with US government and energy market policy.

Solar Tower development in the south west region of the US will also meet core objectives of the commercialization pathway that ensures development occurs on a case by case basis in domestic and international markets.

Global rights to Solar Tower development are currently controlled by EnviroMission’s largest long-term shareholder, SolarMission Technologies Inc.; EnviroMission’s move into the US is undertaken in cooperation with SolarMission in an alignment of strategic intent for streamlined development of the technology.

EnviroMission’s involvement with Solar Tower development in the US will provide additional value to EnviroMission shareholders through active participation in the “commercialisation pathway” that was outlined within EnviroMission’s Low Emissions Technology Demonstration Fund (LETDF) submission.

Northwestern Arizona

Arizona power retailer, Arizona Public Service has provided weather stations to EnviroMission for the collection of meteorological data to be used in the assessment of suitable sites for Solar Tower power stations in the region. The first weather station has been installed on land made available by the State Land Trust for possible future Solar Tower development in North West Arizona. It is anticipated the Arizona data will confirm a strong case for development in the region based on available historical meteorological data.

Located in Phoenix, EnviroMission’s office will provide logistic support to a feasibility study and meteorological testing of 24,000 acres of right of access land secured from The State Land Trust in northwestern Arizona, midway between Phoenix and Los Angeles. The opening of a US office in Arizona will provide EnviroMission with a base for development in the Southwest where strong potential has been indicated for the technology following initial industry and government discussions in the region.

Native American land located in the tri-State region of Arizona, California and Nevada

EnviroMission, in collaboration with the Aha Macav Power Service (AMPS), is now gathering meteorological data for a pre-feasibility study to assess site viability for Solar Tower development within the reservation.

Weather station technology installed at the Reservation will provide localized data to confirm regional solar radiation levels up to 2700 kwm2; levels considered to be extremely favorable for Solar Tower operation.

Prospects for development are positive based on the expected solar radiation results along with general site characteristics and strong local support.

Development of a Solar Tower within the reservation will enable AMPS to supply green sustainable energy to the reservation with surplus export potential into the lucrative California and Nevada markets via transmission lines located within the reservation’s boundaries.

El Paso County, Texas

A weather station has been installed on land beside the El Paso County Sheriff’s Annex to gather meteorological data for a pre-feasibility study to evaluate the viability of Solar Tower operation in the district.

El Paso County Judge, Mr. Anthony Cobos, announced enthusiasm for the development of Solar Towers in the county, saying “key drivers for the County’s support are based on the strong case for the economics of sustainability and energy independence.”

Sites flagged for development in El Paso are characteristically flat and arid with regional solar radiation data from NASA and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) suggesting extremely favorable conditions for Solar Tower operation.

Sites under consideration are also all in close proximity to the end of the Western grid in order to increase interest with local power authorities seeking large-scale renewable energy projects to meet the high mandated renewable energy targets in Texas.

Green Energy Market

Over the past 10 years, control of greenhouse gas emissions has become an issue of major international concern because escalating levels of CO2 are now proven to be a direct cause of global warming. Worldwide environmental performance of energy industries, particularly the electricity sector, has been subject to close examination as they are major contributors to the production of CO2 greenhouse gases.

In 1997 the Australian Federal government mandated through legislation that 9500GWh of Australia’s electricity supply must come from clean, green renewable sources by 2010. Most of Australia’s electricity needs are met today by black and brown coal fired power stations, which account for more than 35% of our nation’s greenhouse gas emissions. Less than 10% of all electricity generated in Australia is generated from alternative, renewable, clean energy sources. Demand for green energy in Australia is set to increase greatly over the next 10 years. Energy industry predictions of a shortfall in renewable energy after 2007 represents a market opportunity for clean green energy generators, and this translates into a commercial advantage.

Each EnviroMission 200MW solar thermal power station will abate over 1,400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide from entering the environment annually when compared to brown coal.
