FULTON, CA–(MARKET WIRE)–Sep 8, 2006 — Automotive Pioneer ZAP (NYSE Arca: ZP) is sponsoring the grand opening of its first dealership in Sonoma County, Voltage Vehicles of Fulton, California, this weekend September 8, 9 and 10 with sales of its new all electric city car called XEBRA.
ZAP is helping establish the local dealership as part of a nationwide network specializing in advanced technology micro-cars. ZAP is continuing to expand its distribution network with several licensed dealers now selling XEBRAs in various states across the country.
Officials with Voltage Vehicles say they have already received orders for the XEBRA while unloading the new cars around the dealership. The dealership is at a busy crossroads connecting Highway 101 to West Sonoma County, making it a high-traffic location for commuters and winery tourists.
Voltage Vehicles will commence offering test drives, sales and service of the new ZAP XEBRA. ZAP will also have the new XEBRA PK version on display at the event, a two-passenger flatbed configuration that can serve as a pickup or dump truck. ZAP is working to offer more micro-car designs through its dealer network.
ZAP plans to mark the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by Chief Executive Officer Steve Schneider, representatives of Voltage Vehicles and the Mark West Area Chamber of Commerce. As part of the Grand Opening there will fun activities for the whole family, including a ZAP Electric Scooter Zone, a raffle for a variety of ZAP gear, and a grand prize of a ZAPPY3 electric scooter. Kids can also enter a XEBRA Car Art Contest to win their very own ZAPPY3.
Voltage Vehicles is located in Fulton, California between Santa Rosa and Windsor in the heart of the Sonoma County wine-growing region. Famous wineries like Kendall Jackson and Korbel are located nearby.
