Ethanol Plant Located in the Richest Topsoil in the WORLD! The Mississippi Delta
This is a company that is on the move in a big way. Southridge Enterprises announced in mid-September that it had secured a financing for $3.3 Million.
This financing capital will enhance Southridge’s progression in its development of what is planned to be the largest bio-refinery complex in the state of Mississippi.
Southridge anticipates breaking ground on the plant by the end of 2007 and beginning production in 2008.
The Mississippi ethanol plant will be ready to meet demand of the recently approved energy bill mandating the production of 36 billion gallons of ethanol per year by 2022.
The Company’s proposed ethanol production facility is located in Sledge, Mississippi. Sledge is located in the rich, rich Delta of the Mississippi, where the topsoil is twelve feet deep and the production rate per acre is the highest in the world.
You can see from the map that Sledge is due north of Interstate 30, one of the most highly traveled transportation arteries in this country and THE highest for energy transport.
This site provides the Company with strategic low cost and monetary location advantages. Ethanol manufacturers in Mississippi are entitled to a $0.20 production incentive.
The Sledge site is located in the southern cornbelt and is likely to have easy and abundant access to corn, the main feedstock for producing ethanol.
The Company also has efficient access to other key raw materials used for producing ethanol.
In addition to a copious supply of raw materials, the site is ideally located near a strong transport infrastructure. The Southridge production facility has easy access to rail, road, and water modes of transportation.
As competition increases in the ethanol industry, reduced costs and increased economies of scale will become key success factors. The strategic location of the Southridge production facility is likely to create a low cost competitive advantage for the Company.
