Ongoing testing of eFoodSafety.com Inc.’s bird flu formulation — Citroxin — is currently under way in this Far Eastern region. Gruden commented, “We specifically began testing in Thailand to be as close as possible to the ‘hot spot’ where this potential pandemic could break out.”
The Company’s Citroxin formulation was hand-delivered by a Company representative to the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), a branch of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) located in the greater Bangkok metropolitan area.
The NSTDA was established in 1991 by the Royal Government of Thailand and officially commenced its operation in 1992. The establishment of NSTDA, unlike other public science and technology organizations in Thailand, was unique as it was aimed to “be the Agency with a high degree of autonomy and mobility unbound by the normal rules, procedures, and regulations of governmental bureaucracy” in order to “conduct, support, coordinate, and promote efforts in scientific and technological development between the public and private sectors towards maximal benefit for national development.” Since its establishment, NSTDA has served as the hub where leading scientists and experts meet and work to tackle scientific and technological issues of imminent concern to both national and international communities.
The significance of testing in a region that has been affected by the bird flu virus will allow for the opportunity for the Company’s Citroxin formula ultimately to be tested, after background protocol testing on other infectious diseases, on live subjects.
“It was recent favorable testing results of our Citroxin formulation on the bird flu in the United States that has brought about the opportunity to test abroad at one of Thailand’s most prestigious agencies, the NSTDA. To have the opportunity to test the Citroxin formulation on live subjects in a region with conclusive evidence confirming the existence of the bird flu virus in animals and humans is very significant,” stated Mrs. Gruden.
eFoodSafety.com Inc. confirms reports that the bird flu virus has spread from human to human.
A report from Indonesia stated that a woman contracted the H5N1 virus, spread it to her 10-year-old son, and five other blood relatives. All but one who contracted the virus had died.
On Nov. 7, 2005, Lee Jong-Wook, leader of the World Health Organization (WHO), stated, “It is only a matter of time before an avian-flu virus — most likely H5N1 — acquires the ability to be transmitted from human to human, sparking the outbreak of human pandemic influenza. We don’t know when this will happen. But we do know that it will happen.”
The recent findings in Indonesia provide proof that the bird flu virus has now inevitably begun to spread between humans.
In the June 24, 2006, edition of the Washington Times, United Nations Bird Flu Chief David Nabarro said this is a “vivid reminder of the need to keep a very close watch on what the virus is doing.” A pandemic of bird flu would be an unprecedented disaster. Economically, the World Bank warned that a bird flu pandemic could cause global gross domestic product to drop by 2 percent — or about $800 billion a year. It is difficult to estimate a reasonable death count, but WHO forecasts have consistently remained at 2 million to 7.4 million deaths worldwide.”
