StockGuru Blog: China Wireless Communications (CWLC) Video Surveillance is Now Affordable and That’s a Huge Driver

Why is video surveillance so hot? CWLC UP AS MUCH AS 35% SINCE COVERAGE INITIATED

CWLC – China Wireless Communications

I believe video surveillance has joined the ranks of the classic cases of increased productivity through technology.

Video Surveillance Enhanced through Internet Protocol — what does that mean? It means video surveillance over the internet!

It means no more banks of video recorders. If you have never actually seen the old method of video surveillance you have probably seen it on television or in the movies. The cops go in and pull out a tape — and voila — the image of the killer, or the thief, or the stalker!

No More! That’s so dated. The cost of hard drives have come down. Now those video images will be sealed away on the hard drive. The cops in Law and Order will have to have the images of the dastardly deeds and dastardly deed doers burned on to a DVD. They can no longer nonchalantly exit with a video tape in hand.

Oh, and one more thing! No more taping over yesterday’s video! Dastardly deed doers beware!

Oh, and yet another thing! No more expensive IT departments will be needed to manage the video surveillance. Hard drives are much more affordable and the labor to administer video surveillance will require a much lower (and less costly) skill level.

AND, having video ‘eyes’ is a lot less costly than having a human presence.

The image below of the man pulling a tape from a video recorder is ancient history.

This is the new world of video surveillance:

I know fully digital systems are the thing! Reduced manpower is the reality! Increased surveillance in all sectors is the consequence!

The emergence of video analytics capabilities enables a rise in the number of cameras without a corresponding rise in manpower.Video surveillance traditionally has been analog, closed circuit and managed by a company’s physical-security staff. Not any more!

With the rise of IP-based digital systems, video surveillance has become just another application on the corporate network.

Reduced Bandwith Requirements Makes Video Surveillance Affordable

The advent of Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) used for transferring data between hard disk and computer makes IP video surveillance storage systems relatively less complex. IP-based digital video allows for use on-demand and multi-casting, which reduces bandwidth demand.

Potential for Star Wars Applications

Video surveillance system has the potential to be merged with physical badge systems, so a camera could be activated to zoom in on an employee wearing a specific badge and be able to follow that individual.

IP-based digital video surveillance offers enormous flexibility in monitoring and archive searching. Video traffic can be encrypted for security purposes.

The falling prices of hard disk drives as well as increasing demand from government and gaming sectors as they replace analog systems with IP surveillance drives this market.

The advantages of digital technology in analyzing and providing real time feedback will fuel the IP video surveillance storage systems market. In addition to growing security concerns, the possibility of integration with the IT infrastructure provides the necessary business case for security managers to shift from analog to IP surveillance.

Everyone Wants Video Surveillance, Cost WAS the Deterrent

Everyone wants video surveillance. Cost was always the deterrent but no more! Active public and private security needs propel heavy investments in the IP video surveillance market. Continuing demand from casinos, airports, banks, and hospitals are drivers in the IP video surveillance market.

I Know Video Surveillance Is Here BIG TIME! AND IT’S AFFORDABLE!

Video Surveillance Is Here BIG TIME! And it’s not just for municipalities! More soon.
