Stock Guru Profile APLL
Apolo Gold & Energy should have a good market for gold!
Standard and Poor released their gold outlook on November 18, 2006, and IT’S POSITIVE!
S&P predicts and increase in the gold prices in 2007 from 2006. S&P predicts higher sales and EPS for this sector in 2007 with a volume decline.
This valuation is based upon a belief that:
1. Short-term interest rates in the U.S. will decline in 2007 from 2006 with a Fed easing;
2. Global gold production has been stagnant for the past 10 years. S&P sees no great increase in production. S&P concludes that firm demand without strong increase in production lift the gold prices.
3. Volitality in global currencies increase gold’s value as a monetary reserve asset.
Year to date through November 10, the S&P Gold Index fell 14.3%, compared to a 10.4% increase for the S&P 1500 Stock Index and a 21.6% rise in spot gold. In 2005, the sub-industry index rose 20.2%, versus a 3.8% gain for the S&P 1500 and an 18.6% rise in spot gold.
