In Belize, Blue Diamond has selected BEI Engineering to design and construct a bio-diesel facility that will have the capacity to produce 100 million gallons per year. In addition, Blue Diamond has a memorandum of agreement with the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station of Texas A&M University System. This agreement will allow the university to serve as a technical assistant partner in Belize for Blue Diamond.
In addition to bio-fuel research, Blue Diamond plans to market goat meat throughout the US, Central America and the Caribbean. Organic farming is another intended focus for Blue Diamond. Organic food sales in the U.S. have grown 20% per year since 1990, and are expected to grow and reach $24 billion by 2010.
