Shares of Smart Online Inc. (OTCBB: SOLN) were trading up 7 cents (3 percent) to $2.27 per share on volume of 32,700. The company recently announced a deal with Jamcracker, an on-demand services company, where the OneBiz platform of private-label small business applications will be available for resale through the Jamcracker Services Delivery Network (JSDN) beginning in the third quarter of 2007.
JSDN allows service providers, resellers and vendors to deliver on-demand services to businesses and consumers. This partnership will enable Jamcracker to offer SOLN’s private-labeled small business software platform, OneBiz, through its global services-delivery network to resellers, including communication services companies.
“Our partnership with Jamcracker is designed to make it possible for us to leverage their global network of service providers and resellers,” said Mike Stuart – vice president of sales and marketing for SOLN – in a press release. “This strategic partnership is an additional vehicle for Smart Online that we believe will make it easier for our channel partners to implement our solutions and in turn increase our small business subscriber base.”
SOLN’s OneBiz platform features integrated daily-use applications for small businesses, including accounting, customer relationship management, salesforce automation, human resources, shared calendars and contacts, dashboards, business plan and marketing plan writers, and more than 2,000 business forms and letters.
The company recently reported its first quarter results. The most striking number in the 10-Q was its cash position of over $5 million. This will provide SOLN a great deal of leverage for acquisitions, financing and product development.
SOLN delivers private-label, software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications designed to enable its corporate partners to acquire and retain small business customers. SOLN’s applications help partners increase their recurring revenue, while aiding their small business customers to more efficiently start, manage and grow their businesses.
