Marley Coffee alongside Evans Quality Coffee Service celebrated the kickoff of its Food Service program at Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey, with an event dubbed “Marley Coffee Day.” The gathering was co-hosted by Union County College and Corp Chefs INC and was lead by Karen Marley, regular spokesperson for Marley Coffee and sister to Rohan Marley, the company’s Chairman.
For the event, Marley Coffee also donated $.50 for every cup of Marley coffee sold that day to its foundation www.KicksForCause.org, which aims to create playable soccer fields and soccer camps at the coffee producing communities in Jamaica.
The event marks the launch of Marley’s Coffee’s Food Service Program at Union County College on August 23rd, 2011. Union County College is one of six associated campuses in the Food Service program, and based on the success of this rollout, other colleges may follow shortly. Karen Marley commented, “Marley Coffee day was a blast; the students were eager to learn about our company’s sustainability practices and interested in how the Marley family farm produces our high quality, organic products.” Evans Quality Coffee Service President Jim Evans added, “The Marley coffee products are a huge hit with the students. The coffee is selling faster than any coffee that we’ve had previous.” Marley Coffee replaced a well-known national brand and has outsold it 4 to 1.
“We are very excited about adding Marley Coffee to our coffee program. Our clientele, especially the student base has embraced this product and the story that comes with it. We see Marley Coffee as a key partner to future growth” continued Evans.
Coffee distribution in Food Service is a multi-billion dollar vertical within the coffee industry, and Marley Coffee is seeking to capture a large share of this market. Marley Coffee now has distribution programs in the Grocery Retail, Online Retail, Online Monthly Membership, Office Coffee Service, and Food Service industry. The company seeks to expand its distribution reach with more great partners.
