SkyPostal Networks, Inc., (SKPN.OB), the growing Miami-based mail delivery company serving 20 major countries in Latin America, has done for mail delivery in Latin America what FEDEX and UPS have done for parcel delivery in the U.S.
Through the application of state-of-the-art technologies and logistics, combined with the skillful use of outsourced transportation and delivery services, SkyPostal has bested government delivery services, providing superior reliability, speed, and cost effectiveness, and has now become the largest private mail network in Latin America, delivering some 38 million pieces of mail each month.
Through the use of proprietary software, GPS handsets, a huge private messenger network, and the avoidance of costly tolls and tariffs required of other companies, SkyPostal consistently exceeds normal delivery standards in Latin America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. SkyPostal delivery from Europe is a good example. Instead of taking 17 days via the national postal services for mail arriving from Europe, SkyPostal averages less than 8 days. And while a European sender pays over 40¢ per piece for worldwide delivery, SkyPostal’s average is closer to 10¢. In addition, while government undeliverable rates are as high as 30% in some countries, SkyPostal successfully delivers nearly 100% of the time, and, when unable to do so, returns the mail to the sender free of charge.
Although SkyPostal, like other companies, has had to face the challenges of unprecedented fuel cost increases, together with a slowing American economy, it has been so aggressive in improving efficiencies that it continues to expand operations and market share, including the anticipated introduction of service to Europe.
SkyPostal was founded in 2002 with the aim of creating a new standard for “time-defined” mail delivery in the Americas, but the SkyPostal management team, headed by president and CEO Albert P. Hernandez has experience going back to 1972, with the founding of SkyNet-Choice, the first courier and mail delivery service in Latin America. SkyPostal is headquartered in Miami, FL, and outsources its mail sorting facility in London, which processes mail originating in Europe.
