Headquartered in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Selkirk Metals released updates on Monday concerning its Ruddock Creek mining property. The company has thus far drilled to a length of 972 meters, intersecting the massive sulphide mineralization known as the Deep E-Zone. At a declining grade of -15 percent, drilling will continue until the zone is completely crossed.
According to tests, the massive mineralization contains abundant amounts of sphalerite(Zn) and galena(Pb) with accompanying pyrite and pyrrhotite. The company is pleased with present progress and expects this particular decline to reach an overall length of 1000 meters. The main line will also be crosscut to a length of 200 meters, and four new drilling stations are to be established. A separate, surface diamond-drilling program is also planned for the site.
Using its two rigs at Ruddock Creek, Selkirk now has five completed drill holes originating from a drill station located approximately 650 meters from the main entrance. Samples from these cuts have already been sent away for assay (geological/chemical analysis). In total, the company expects around 10,000 meters of drilling to occur on the property.
President Gordon Keevil stated: “We are very pleased with the continued excellent progress of the underground program and would like to acknowledge the work of our Project Management and Procon Mining and Tunneling Ltd., the prime contractor on site. We look forward to the completion of the decline, underground development program and the ongoing results from the diamond drilling program.”
