As Reed’s, Inc. grows the sale of its core product, beverages, the industry continues to grow. In the last three years the total sales of the beverage category has risen 8%. Beverages accounted for 84.8% of Reed’s total sales in 2005 and at the end of 2007 they accounted for almost 94% of their total sales. The Company continues to expand its beverage portfolio with new products.
The premium Sodas sold by Reed are all natural and come in a variety of flavors. They include their signature Ginger Ales with flavors like raspberry, spiced apple, cherry, original, and extra ginger. Reed also offers Root Beer and Cream Soda. In addition to offering the new Virgil line of Sodas, Ginger juice brews are also offered which come in lemon guava, strawberry kiwi, pineapple orange, and cranberry raspberry flavors.
Recently they have also expanded their distribution channels through a number of agreements. In October they announced an agreement with Burke, a leading beverage distributor in the Greater Boston area. Last month a distribution agreement with Mesa Distributing Company was signed to distribute their product throughout San Diego County. Both of these are well established distribution centers and give them access to many retail accounts to distribute the products.
Reeds Inc. is a Non-Alcoholic Beverage and Specialty food company that manufactures and markets its products. They sell in three categories, New Age Beverages, Ice Cream and Candies, and Confectionary Goods. Its unique target market is estimated at $45 billion. Its products can be found on the shelves of Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Trader Joe’s, Kroger’s, Safeway, and Costco. Company Management comes from well known beverage producers: Coke, Pepsi, Red Bull, Coors and Heineken. Reed’s was just recently allowed to trade on the NASDAQ giving shareholders an added amount of liquidity.
