Reed’s Inc. (REED) Announces Major Distributor Agreements in Southern California while Adding, Growing and Acquiring in a Tough Market

If one were to pick a market where smaller companies can show takeover potential as fast as a pre .com bubble company, it would be a sport water or juice company. Add a unique healthy product with a Chinese history and you may be off to the races.REED Inc., a manufacturer, marketer and seller of natural ginger products, is currently expanding its Southern California presence with three main line distributors. The manufacture of natural ginger juices, candies and ice creams now offers its main ginger juice product from Santa Barbra County to Riverside/San Bernardino and San Diego counties.

Since the company’s founding in 1989, the company has grown to 600 retail outlets in the Southern California marketplace and has joined the product lines of several very large distributors nationwide. Current national chains offering the company’s product lines include: Trader Joes, Costco, Safeway and Kroger.

Current indications are that the company will continue its market penetration in the natural foods segment. Its recent listing on the NASDAQ exchange indicates that the company is on the move; not to mention its acquisitions of Virgil’s Root Beer and China Cola.

Clearly, the company has plans of its own for future growth. Reed’s, Inc. is still run by the company’s founder, who has a solid idea of where he would like to see his company go. To date, he has hit all the marks with a fairly conservative growth plan designed for the long term. Targets are being met and a fun time is being had by all involved.
