Thus far the company has invested $24 million in R&D, acquired 9 U.S. and 17 international patents in three principle areas, and has extensively tested its technology since 1997 with positive results. The technology to be commercialized by Raven is based on Acid Hydrolysis and other proprietary technologies that can produce high value specialty chemicals from agriculture waste products.
Raven Biofuels’ first planned plant is anticipated to produce 6 million gallons of ethanol and 17,000 tonnes of specialty chemicals per year. The Company has been moving forward productively with the project as all critical permits have been approved. Raven Biofuels projects that it will be producing a total of 100 million gallons per year (MG/Y) of cellulosic ethanol within four years and 200 MG/Y within five years.
