QualityStocksNewsBreaks – Standard Lithium Ltd. (TSX.V: SLL) (FRA: S5L) (OTCQX: STLHF) Completes Proof-of-Concept of Modern Lithium Extraction, Crystallisation Technology

Standard Lithium (TSX.V: SLL) (OTCQX: STLHF) (FRA: S5L), an innovative technology and lithium project development company, has completed the start-to-finish proof of concept of its proprietary modern lithium processing technology. The company was successfully able to directly extract lithium from brine and produce a purified, concentrated intermediate product (LiCl solution). In addition, that LiCl solution was converted to better-than-battery quality lithium carbonate product. The solution was produced by STLHF’s first-of-its-kind Direct Lithium Extraction (“DLE”) demonstration plant and then transferred to the company’s SiFT Pilot Plant in British Columbia for conversion. The final result — a high-purity lithium carbonate — was sent for third-party chemical analysis. “This is an extremely important milestone for Standard Lithium,” said Standard Lithium president and COO Andy Robinson in the press release. “We’ve managed to demonstrate the first of its kind continuous extraction of lithium from Smackover brine, and we’ce converted it into better than battery quality material. Not only that, but we’ve done it at a large scale, which now allows us to keep on working towards commercialization. This proof of concept validates our approach over the past four years, and is testament to the hard work and ingenuity of our deep and diverse technical team.”

About Standard Lithium Ltd.

Standard Lithium is an innovative technology and lithium development company. The company’s flagship project is located in Southern Arkansas, where it is engaged in the testing and proving of the commercial viability of lithium extraction from more than 150,000 acres of permitted brine operations. The company has commissioned its first-of-a-kind industrial scale Direct Lithium Extraction demonstration plant at LANXESS’ South Plant facility in Southern Arkansas. The Demonstration Plant utilizes Standard Lithium’s proprietary LiSTR technology to selectively extract lithium from LANXESS’ tailbrine. The Demonstration Plant is being used for proof-of-concept and commercial feasibility studies. The scalable, environmentally friendly process eliminates the use of evaporation ponds, thereby reducing processing time from months to hours as well as greatly increasing the effective recovery of lithium. The company is also pursuing the resource development of more than 30,000 acres of separate brine leases located in Southwestern Arkansas and approximately 45,000 acres of mineral leases located in the Mojave Desert in San Bernardino County, California.
