Puget Technologies, Inc. (PUGE) Developing New Social Platform for User Interaction and Global Engagement

Today before the opening bell, Puget Technologies announced that it is developing a new social platform for 3D printer users to interact and share their 3D creations with the world. The platform will consist of a digital 3D consumer community and network of integrated 3D scan-based designs, freeform models, and go-to resources.

Puget Technologies plans the release of this online platform in coordination with Weistek USA’s release of the IdeaWerk 3D high-performance printer in the United States in Q2 2014.

“The digital destination addresses the growing need for people to express their personal identity through the objects that exist in their living and workspaces,” said Ron Leyland, President and CEO of Puget Technologies. “The site will engage the enthusiasts as well as the consumers who are new to desktop 3D printing and allow them to experience a new level of creativity, inspiration, and collaboration. Of course, the platform will add to the functionality of the Weistek USA IdeaWerk 3D high-performance printer by serving as a resource for all things in the 3D printer environment.”

Since the IdeaWerk is a “plug and make” modular product, users will be able to go to the online platform and select from a variety of designs for creative inspiration. The platform will also have a blog for disseminating tips and protocol on best 3D printer creation practices for users of all experience and skill levels. Puget Technologies says it plans to announce the platform’s name sometime in Q2 2014 as well.
