Barocycler NEP3229: The Barocycler NEP3229 is a high-pressure laboratory instrument that is designed to fit on a bench top, inside a biological safety cabinet, or on the shelf of a cold room while having the power to generate up to 35,000 psi. The instrument has the ability to process up to three samples at the same time by utilizing specially designed PULSE Tubes. An external chiller hook-up, automatic fill and dispense valves, and an integrated microprocessor with programmable logic controller is included.

Barocycler NEP2320: The Barocycler NEP2320 is a more compact alternative of the Barocycler NEP3229. It has the same technology advantages as the larger instrument, but processes one sample at a time and is designed to use a small amount of laboratory bench space. The Barocycler NEP2320 is controlled by specialized components, a programmable controller, and software. External sources such as compressed air, bottled compressed air, and stand-alone compressors are used to create high and ultra-high hydrostatic pressure inside the instrument’s reaction chamber.

PULSE Tubes: PULSE is an acronym for “Pressure Used to Lyse Samples for Extraction.” The tubes are used with both Barocycler products and transmit the pressure generated by the instruments to the sample. Specimens are placed on the lysis disk contained in the PULSE Tube and the tube is placed in the pressure chamber where pressurization begins. When pressure is released, the specimen is pulled back through the lysis disk. The combination of passing through the lysis disk, rapid pressure changes, and other biophysical mechanisms breaks up cellular structures swiftly and resourcefully, releasing the nucleic acids, small molecules, and proteins.

ProteoSolveLRS: Towards the mid-point of this year, Pressure BioSciences began marketing its first pressure-cycling dependent, research-use only kit named ProteoSolveLRS, which is currently patent pending. The special kit is made to safely, rapidly, resourcefully, and reproducibly extract proteins from lipid-rich samples. The Proteomic analysis of such samples is widely used to study diabetes, cancer, ALS, heart disease, and a plethora of other disorders related to obesity. The kit includes specific buffers, solvents, PULSE Tubes and instructions for use with purchased or leased Barocycler instruments.
