PetroQuest Energy, Inc. reported the success of several oil and gas wells drilled and completed in various regions of the United States. The company conducts exploration and development activity in the Gulf Coast, Midcontinent and Rocky Mountain areas.
PetroQuest Energy said that an exploratory well drilled at the La Cantera Prospect in Louisiana found 176 feet of net pay in the Cris R Massive sand. The company said that mechanical difficulties with the wellbore prevented it from logging the bottom part of the formation. PetroQuest Energy is the operator and has a 16% net revenue interest in this well.
PetroQuest Energy also disclosed the successful completion and production results of six wells drilled into the Woodford Shale in Oklahoma. The 24 hour gross production rates on these wells ranged from 2.61 million to 8.93 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. The company is operating three rigs here and has reached total depth on six other wells.
PetroQuest Energy has completed the company’s five well drilling program in the Rocky Mountains. The program targeted the Niobrara Shale and was conducted on both an operated and non operated basis. The company said that no further activity is planned to this formation until the results of the first five wells are evaluated.
