In 1998, Michel Vezina and Serge Breton worked together to create a module that was used to remotely control a vehicle and its power supply. This accomplishment was offset by the realization that serious security issues were inherent in the idea. In the years following, the two poured time and effort into the research and development of a security protocol that would protect the integrity of telematic transmissions sent using the system. After the perfection of this protocol, the pair began applying it in different areas of telematics. It was around this time that they also developed an interface encryption system, completing the long process of achieving the goal of securing transmitted commands through telematics.
Michel Vezina is now the CEO of TelTeck, which was formed later in 2005. The company offers a wide array of totally secure telematics solutions, ranging from traffic control devices to remote electric meter readers. Another TelTeck strongpoint is its high-security GPS equipment, asset, and personal tracking solutions, which employ the same principles developed by Mr. Vezina, and Mr. Breton.
