P2 Solar (PTOS); Proof the Clean Power Revolution is for Real

To cost effectively and reliably supply power to more than 1.2 billion people is a herculean challenge. Traditional fossil fuel power supplies require huge infrastructure investments, ongoing and increasing costs for fuel, and sully the environment in an already overcrowded and over polluted sub-continent. India faces real challenges.

The solution lies in reliable, clean and renewable energy. Once thought of as mere wishful thinking, renewable energy projects have gained great acceptance and wide-spread use as costs decline, effectiveness expands, and profitability increases. No longer just “wishful thinking,” clean power has become a reliable and cost-effective source of energy. That’s why India has clean power initiatives to spur business development of renewable power sources.

Worldwide, companies and countries are gravitating to clean power sources and reaping the rewards. One such company is P2 Solar (PTOS). Based in Canada, P2 Solar established its bona fides in British Columbia with one of the largest solar PV projects connected to BC Hydro’s electricity grid. The project proved successful even without government incentives and is expected to generate 10% of the facility’s power requirements.

Capitalizing on its success, P2 Solar has turned its focus to an aggressive mandate to develop 150 MWp of electricity generating capacity in several phases over the next few years. The company’s recent projects are two mini-hydro sites in India where it has received favorable government support. When fully operational, the Tibba mini-hydro project is expected to generate more than $300,000 in annual revenue and achieve a 95% EBITDA margin. The Rajgarh Small-Hydro project, P2 Solar’s other Indian site, located near Punjab, is expected to generate $400,000 in annual revenue when fully operational and achieve 95% EBITDA. These are impressive EBITDA numbers by almost anyone’s standards.

This could be just the beginning for P2 Solar as it moves aggressively toward the broader company objective of 150 MWp. It sure looks like the clean power revolution is for real.
