The alcoholic beverage industry is making way for a new player – SIPP Industries, Inc. (OTC.PK: SIPP). SIPP markets a new, flexible-pouch packaged mixed drink in the Ready-To-Drink (RTD) Spirits Beverage Market, and operates in the non-alcoholic beverage market as well.
The company’s “No Bartender Needed” mixed drinks are authentic cocktails that can be purchased individually or in Party Pax of ten. Recently, the company introduced a flexible pouch packaging method that uses a more cost-effective filling machine than traditional flex packaging. Some of the benefits the new pouch provides are portability, a shatter-proof container, and a container that can be frozen without sustaining damage like glass bottles. Drinks frozen in the new flex-packaging tend to become slushy rather than rigid due to the volume of alcohol.
The company’s first product introduction will be Fling™, and will prepare it to launch five additional flavors of ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages. These flavors were chosen because they make up 50% of all mixed drinks sold, and include: Classic Margarita, Strawberry Margarita, Planter’s Punch, Mojito, and Mai Tai.
Currently, the company has obtained the requisite alcohol distribution licenses for 19 of the required 31 states, with 12 pending approval. With minimal competition from other drink-in-a-pouch manufacturers, the company estimates it will take two years for the competition to catch up. As they are ahead of production schedules, they could be delivering their spirits as early as the second quarter of 2008.
