OSI Geospatial, Inc. (OSIIF.OB) Signs $10 Million Contract with the U.S. Army

OSI Geospatial, a company that delivers advanced geospatial systems and software which enables shared, real-time situational awareness for the military’s safety and security applications, has signed a five year, $10 million contract with the U.S. Army through its U.S. Systems Operations. According to the contract, the company will provide its land-based command and control products and engineering services in support of U.S. Army operational requirements.

According to OSI, there are currently more than 20 Soldier Modernization Programs developing around the world, all of whom share the same common goals to reduce blue casualties, raise operational tempo and increase readiness for future operations. One of the key requirements of these programs is to provide command, control, communications and intelligence capabilities to the soldier – requirements which the company believes it is well positioned to meet using its Small Unit Situational Awareness technology.

Ken Kirkpatrick, president and CEO of OSI Geospatial stated, “We are very pleased to be signing this significant contract with this valued, long term customer, the U.S. Army. Our relationship has allowed for the exceptional progress in the development of our land based command and control products and, specifically, our Small Unit Situational Awareness system. The development of relationships and products such as these is critical to our growth strategy and this contract underscores the progress that we are making. We strongly believe that we are well positioned to leverage this contract to develop future opportunities in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada.”

OSI Geospatial systems and software is designed to be used by the military, the homeland security market, and commercial customers around the world, which together generate an estimated $1.1 billion of annual spending. In order to tap into this market, the company believes that the value delivered by its products and services, as well as its strong partnerships and customer relationships, will be important growth drivers for the company and its subsidiaries.
