OMVS: Small, Fast-Growing Trucking Firms Offer Ready Market for Shared Economy App

A recently released study revealed small, independent trucking firms are among the nation’s fastest growing small businesses, and that welcome news has On the Move Systems (OMVS) excited about revenue prospects for its upcoming “Uber-for-Trucking” shared economy app.

According to the analysis, conducted by financial information company Sageworks, general freight companies with annual revenues of less than $5 million have enjoyed a healthy sales growth rate of nearly 25 percent over the past 12 months.

Drilling down further, specialty truckers (such as tankers and refrigerated haulers) have seen their sales increase by 16 percent over the last year. The study notes this rate is nearly double the growth for small businesses across all industries.

“This thorough, informative study gives great insight into our target customer base,” said OMVS CEO Robert Wilson. “Small, independent truckers are going to be one of the main focuses of our revolutionary shared economy app. The platform we’re creating will help them not only continue their impressive growth, but expand it even further. We’ve already drawn considerable interest from this segment, and we expect once released, our app will generate significant revenues from these users.”

OMVS’s innovative online, on-demand trucking platform aims to take advantage of America’s growing national interest in sharing economy services, sales of which could grow to $335 billion by 2025. The company is currently growing its network of local freight carriers and is working closely with software developers to refine and enhance the app’s power and versatility.
