SkyPostal Networks Inc. is an international mail distribution company specializing in the hand delivery of commercial mail, periodicals and parcels in the Latin American – Caribbean region (LAC). The company has established itself as one of the largest private mail networks in Latin America, executing the delivery of mail from European entities with time-sensitive deliveries, such as major publishers, mail consolidators, international mailers and financial institutions.
The company recently announced its first-quarter results, posting sales at $2.4 million, a 40-percent increase over the $1.7 million reported last year. The company also reported an increase in gross margin, at 25 percent for the first quarter of 2008, up from 17 percent for the same period last year. EBITDA increased 11 percent within the period.
“We are very pleased to see our margins increasing together with the EBITDA and record revenue growth. The company is committed to further expanding while keeping operational expenses as low as possible. We anticipate that margins will continue to increase as we further establish our presence in the LAC and improve our operational efficacy,” Albert P. Hernandez, SkyPostal’s president and CEO stated in the press release.
The company has established exclusive agreements with more than 20 major private postal services in 20 different countries through the LAC region. The company anticipates growth in the upcoming year and expects to increase its market share of the non-critical time segment.
SkyPostal also announced the nomination of S. David Fineman to its board of directors. He will be formally appointed at the upcoming shareholder meeting. Fineman is a senior partner of Fineman, Krekstein & Harris in Philadelphia and is experienced with governmental authorities and private clients. Fineman’s experience drew him the respect of several government officials: he was nominated by the president of the United States and confirmed by the United States Senate as one of nine governors of the U.S. Postal Service and has served as chairman of the board of governors.
“We are honored that Mr. Fineman has agreed to join our board of directors,” Hernandez stated. “With his history and experience, Mr. Fineman brings extensive knowledge of the postal industry and leadership qualities that will help us continue expanding as we provide consistent, secure and reliable mail delivery service into Latin America.”
