In a slowing economy, energy demand is beginning to dip dangerously low, as trading on Thursday saw the price of a barrel of oil approaching sixty dollars. Light, sweet crude for December delivery fell to a 36-month low of $60.94 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. At the current level, crude prices are down roughly sixty percent from last July’s all-time high of $147.27.
