With dangerous, antibiotic-resistant staph infections on the rise, wellness innovator Neutra Corp. has made the delivery of cutting-edge anti-microbial solutions to the epidemic a top priority for the new year.
According to a recent examination by USA Today, the infection rate of MRSA, the sometimes-deadly, drug-resistant bacteria that has notoriously attacked hospitals and even NFL locker rooms, is far more common than government statistics suggest. MRSA staph infections sicken hundreds of thousands of people in America alone each year, causing symptoms from skin boils to pneumonia. The disease claims upwards of 20,000 lives annually.
Institutions such as hospitals, schools, and sports leagues are particularly at risk from the difficult-to-combat disease. To help eliminate the threat, NTRR is working fast to bring new, effective products to market capable of sanitizing the locations favored by the MRSA bacteria.
NTRR’s joint venture partner, Surface to Air Solutions (S2O2), has acquired a Texas-based firm that’s developed a potentially lucrative anti-microbial coating capable of adhering to sporting equipment and facilities, preventing viral and bacterial contamination. In addition to preventing the spread of staph from the locker room to the waiting room, it’s also an effective defense against common diseases and illnesses from the flu to H1N1.
“Delivering this incredible new product to the institutions that need it most will be a major focus for the company in 2014,” said NTRR CEO Sydney Jim.
