Nascent Food Service (NCTW.OB) Opens New Distribution Center in Mexico

Nascent Food Service’s newly opened distribution center will house two operations of the Company. The plant was opened in Mexico City, Mexico and will house two recently acquired operations, Pasani and Groupo Sur Promociones. Pasani is a Food and Beverage distributor in Mexico City and Groupo Sur Promociones is a marketing firm held by Nascent. It was a strategic move to further the company’s share of the imported food distribution market within Mexico and to reduce overall costs.

This move has also helped centralize the operations and handle the expected growth. President of Pasani, Alejandro Gutierrez is quoted saying, “This facility is ideal to handle our rapid growth. With the capital and new products Nascent has provided, our volume of business has increased significantly.” They seek to further consolidate their businesses and increase their national distribution strategy.

Nascent Food Service Inc. stands as the only distributor of imported food and beverage products within Mexico. They distribute and market over 2,000 products nationwide. Currently they hold exclusive rights to distribute Miller Beer products in Baja, California. Furthermore, they also import products from Nestle, Haagen-Dazs, General Mills, Ferrarelle Water, Cora Italian Food Products, Bonafont Water, Avasoft Ice Cream, Mitsuki Asian products, Bonet European products, Kabbalah Energy Drink, and Jolly Rancher Soda. They service 240,000 sales points including supermarkets, convenience stores and foodservice accounts like Wal-Mart, Costco, Soriana, Comercial Mexicana, AM/PM, 7-ELEVEN, OXXO and much more.

The Opening of the new center complements the companywide strategy to consolidate its operations and expand its distribution capabilities. As stated by the CEO Sandro Piacone, “’We will continue to consolidate operations, this is where the underlying values of the acquisitions we have made are realized, proper convergence and interaction with the acquisitions is vital in creating efficiencies thereby generating greater profitability. This coupled with expanded national distribution is the basis of our business strategy.”
