On March 26, 2008, mPhase/AlwaysReady, Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL) announced that it successfully fabricated nano-structured separators, which are critical to the production of its Smart NanoBattery. The company also stated yesterday that it is set to make battery history on Thursday, April 3rd at 9:00am EST. mPhase/AlwaysReady will demonstrate, for the first time, a significant breakthrough in battery technology enabled by microfluidic technology.
Credit Suisse, a global research and investment-banking firm, recently talked about the company’s mPhase Technologies Smart NanoBattery in a report called, “Nanotechnology for Energy Systems of the Future”.
“This microfluidic phenomenon serves as the basis for a new type of battery with unlimited shelf life that can be used to provide power in portable electronic devices for commercial and military applications,” said Ronald A. Durando, CEO of mPhase Technologies Inc.
MPhase Technologies Inc., through its subsidiary AlwaysReady, Inc., focuses on developing and commercializing new battery technology. The company bases its product on a well-patented phenomenon known as electrowetting. Electrowetting provides a unique way to store energy and manage power that could possibly revolutionize the battery industry. The demonstration event will be held at AJ Maxwells, located at 57 W. 48th Street in New York City, on Thursday, April 3, 2008.
