MIPSolutions, Inc. (MSOL.OB) Reduces Time and Expense Associated with Precious Metal Extraction

MIPSolutions, Inc. (MSOL.OB) has recently discovered a significant advancement in the area of molecular imprinting at their laboratories on the University of Utah. They found that Molecularly Imprinted Ionomer (MII) beads imprinted to retain silver could also retain gold while excluding all other metals. The application of this discovery translates to a large capital expense savings, a reduced development time, and a streamlined field-use plan.

Glen Southard, Chief Science Office of MIPSolutions, stated, “These serendipitous results greatly simplify our R&D plans for precious metals while significantly reducing costs The ability to use the same MII beads to isolate two different precious metals will save significant amounts of capital expense and development time.”

Additionally, the laboratory at the University of Utah recently implemented a Schlenk system to improve the quality control and the purity level of the MII beads and feedstock. The Schlenk system is used primarily to handle inert gases. The MIPSolutions laboratory combines this system with a vacuum system to control oxygen content, humidity, cleanliness, and the presence of volatile organic compounds during chemical reaction tests.

MIPSolutions is a company focused on the development of technology involved with capturing target molecules in the mining, environmental, water and medical fields.
